The below is about an interesting study…I hate a lot of the language used in the piece: “risk”, “implicated” and particularly “these chronic, severe, and debilitating disorders…” I sounds as though having BP is a death sentence. I am sure there are people with BP who feel like it is living death, sometimes I’ve felt that way…but, shit, this article makes it sound as though there is no way anyone with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder can function at all, let alone function well. Pisses me off totally, but I’m posting the study below anyhow b/c it’s good info to know.
The study of more than 50,000 adults ages 18 and older provides new molecular evidence that 11 DNA regions in the human genome have strong association with these diseases, including six regions not previously observed.
