News of my friend Ken’s death came as I was riding the bus from my girlfriend’s apartment to mine this morning with this simple note from his longtime companion:
Dear Friends of Ken,
Some of you have heard the sad news, others have not, that my darling Kenny died Sunday April 25th.
This mail is to let you know. I found these addresses in his Outlook express.
I’m gonna miss the old guy, whom I loved and cared for deeply. He was a comrade, friend, surrogate father and a guide.
Following is some info about Ken. He was first and foremost an old-fashioned illustrator with great integrity—he drew only for progressive media. He was also a fine writer, and I have some of his self-published and unpublished work.

[NOTE – November 25, 2013: I am conducting research for a book on Ken Rinciari and would be very gratefuli if those who find this message and knew Ken in any capacity would contact me: firstname.lastname@example.org. THANK YOU!]
