I’m seeing my doc at the WTC Clinic at Bellevue Hospital for a follow-up appointment today. Asthma’s not good, I’ve gained a lot of weight and I am somewhat depressed, which I’ve written a lot about on this blog recently.
I want to share something from another blog that I commented on and get your take, it’s about changing the terms (language-wise) for mental illness. I think all the suggestions are worse than the phrase “mental illness”, which I have no problem whatsoever with. But, then I’m an outspoken, big-mouth activist, critic and contrarian who doesn’t have any qualms about telling it like I see it or coming out about my bipolar. However, I understand different folks have different degrees of comfort with their illness, treatment, abilities and public knowledge about their, well mental illness.
